Travel within the correct zone

Ride-on-Demand serves zones without regular Transit lines. The service can take a rider between points within the same active zone or to its designated cityHUB to connect with other buses. It is not described as unrestricted citywide door-to-door travel.

Use the current City route map and trip planner to confirm the active demand zone and associated hub. A destination in another zone may need a hub connection rather than one direct demand ride.

Booking and pickup

Book in the Rides on Demand app on Apple or Android devices, or call 311. The City tells customers to book when ready because the bus arrives within 20 minutes of booking.

Watch for the vehicle and be ready. The driver waits only two minutes because other riders are waiting. Arrange the connecting portion of the journey around the actual hub, not a guessed direct route.

Fares and companion payment

Ride-on-Demand has required fares since October 2, 2023. Older information saying the pilot was free is no longer the current rule. Regular Transit payment options include LT Fare, mobile QR, bank-card tap and exact cash.

The normal physical-card rule is one fare card per rider. A bank card can pay multiple individual fares with multiple taps. If paying by bank card or cash and connecting, ask the driver for paper transfers for the people travelling.
