Clear the sidewalk beside your property
Keep the sidewalk next to the property free of snow, ice and other fallen debris within 24 hours. The City’s own pathway and sidewalk clearing covers more than 215 km using priorities, but does not replace the owner’s adjacent-sidewalk responsibility.
Shovel toward yards or boulevard areas where possible rather than roads and alleys. Snow pushed into travel areas can make it harder for neighbours to pass. The City encourages neighbours to help older residents who cannot clear snow themselves.

Notice and penalties
If the sidewalk is not cleared, the owner may receive a notice requiring action. Failure to comply brings a $50 first-offence penalty, $100 second-offence penalty or $150 third-offence penalty. These are compliance penalties, not a paid snow-clearing service.
Report a concern using the online form, call 311 or 403-320-3111 outside the city, or visit Regulatory Services on City Hall’s first floor.

All source-listed free-sand locations
The City lists exactly two free sand pickup sites: North Lethbridge Recycling Station and West Lethbridge Recycling Station. Bring a bucket and shovel to load your own sand.
The sidewalk source links maps but does not give street addresses or winter opening hours. The map links locate the station by name, not a verified pile location or accessible pickup route. Confirm access before making a trip.
