Paying and transferring
Tap an LT Fare card, scan the mobile QR code, tap a bank card or mobile wallet, or put exact cash in the farebox. For bank-card or cash payment, request a paper transfer from the driver when needed.
A physical LT Fare card cannot pay for more than one rider. Bank cards can be tapped once per companion; the mobile app can hold an active pass for each companion. Ask for the necessary paper transfers after bank-card or cash group payment.

Registration, stored value and pass activation
Register a card yourself through LTFare.ca or the LT Fare app. Registration is optional but enables online reloads and balance protection. City Hall or Transit Reception can freeze a registered lost card and move its balance.
A pass works only on the card or app where activated, not both. A pass takes priority over stored value. If no pass is active, tapping can activate the longest-period assigned pass in purchase order. Select the intended pass before travelling.
